Bernard Keller is in the final stages of lung cancer and decides to end his
life and his suffering. All necessary formalities have been
settled. Robert, a long-time family friend and Bernard’s doctor, is going
to give him the redeeming injection. Ben doesn’t want to take leave
in an anonymous hospital but at home together with his family.
On the eve of Ben’s last day,
his girlfriend Hannah, his two younger brothers and his daughter meet
at his house. Ben’s decision leads to conflicts and disagreements within
the family. The only thing that everyone agrees on: Ben’s last evening
should be a celebration of life, not a funeral ceremony. With the help of
music and alcohol, the party guests try to drown out the merciless
ticking of the clock. But the next morning is coming closer …
A Good Death explores a family confronted with a terminally ill member who
decides to die. The last day, evening, night and morning are brought to us
with humour and tears, emotions and reflections of life.
